Domain 7: Research & Inquiry

Overview

The primary focus of this domain is on demonstrating knowledge of current etiology and practice-based research specific to ASD while fostering lifelong learning to ensure educators can effectively meet evolving learner needs. I have selected three artifacts, each representing a specific competency, to showcase my ability to interpret and communicate research findings in accessible language, reflect on the importance of ongoing professional development, and implement evidence-based practices (EBPs). These artifacts highlight my commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences and continually improving my teaching strategies to support individuals with ASD.

7.1 Demonstrate knowledge of current etiology and practice-based research specific to ASD.

I learned to deepen my understanding of how to analyze different research methodologies and their implications for practice, particularly in the context of academic and social dynamics among students. This insight has enhanced my ability to evaluate research designs, paradigms, and findings critically, equipping me to apply evidence-based practices effectively to support students with ASD. By interpreting complex research in accessible terms, I can better tailor interventions to meet diverse learner needs.
